Samantha, ‘16 Hometown: Fair Lawn, NJ Major: Communications (Public Relations) Personal Interests: I enjoy cooking, listening to music, hiking, and snow tubing. Campus Involvement: I am involved in the Student Government Association, on the St. Jude’s Up ‘Til Dawn Executive Board, and I work at Student Activities. How I Can Help As Your Peer Mentor: I didn't really know how to get involved freshman year of college, and I look back now and wish I did more around campus during my first year at Marist. Now, going into my senior year, I definitely learned how to use resources on campus to get involved in things I love doing. So if you're ever having trouble finding activities that you enjoy, I will be able to guide you in the right direction! What I Was Nervous About: I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to find a balance between my school work and my social life. Me and most other students in my classes have a lot more down time than we realize, so it's super easy most of the time to meet with my friends and do our work in the library, then go grab dinner together after. What I Was Excited About: When I first started college, I was so excited to meet new people, especially in my residence hall. Each hall does a really great job of having events that help freshmen meet a lot of new people, especially in the first few months of school! Advice for the Class of 2019: Take advantage of every opportunity that you are offered. If you dislike it, you don't have to try it again, but if you love it you'll be happy you tried it! “I'm so happy that you chose to come to Marist, and I can't wait to meet you in the fall!”
