Alicia, ‘17 Hometown: Milford, CT Major: Biochemistry Personal Interests: I enjoy reading, hiking, baseball/
softball, movie watching, and go‐kart racing. Campus Involvement: I am on the Executive Board of Purple Thread, involved in Band, and am a Peer Mentor! How I Can Help As Your Peer Mentor: Everyone is worried about something when they come to college. I was no different. It's not so scary when actually get here and I've been through it, so I can guide you and show you a lot of the perks of being a part of the Marist family! What I Was Nervous About: I thought the work load was going to be too much for me and that I wasn't going to have enough time to get everything done, and still have free time to experience college. But it turned out that I was making myself crazy for nothing; with some good time management, guidance, and hard work, I've managed to keep my academic goals, but I don't feel as though I've missed out on anything. What I Was Excited About: I couldn't wait to be independent. There are so many opportunities at Marist and so much room to grow. I love my parents, and I love going home on occasion, but it was also such an amazing experience to be self‐sufficient for the first time. Advice for the Class of 2019: Get to know your floor mates! You're going to be living with them for the next year, so who better to be your first friends on campus? Also, go to the Activities Fair. Get information about anything and everything you might be even remotely interested in. It doesn't hurt to get the information, and if you go to some meetings you might just find your niche. I did! “I am so excited to meet you in the fall! Enjoy the rest of your summer and welcome to the Red Fox family!”
