Des Moines Register 06-18-06 Grassroots ISU summer field days begin The first summer field day at Iowa State University research farms begins at noon Monday at the horticulture station 1miles east of the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and County Road E23 north of Ames. Topics include fruit and vegetable production. At 5 p.m. Wednesday, the Armstrong Research and Demonstration Farm near Lewis will hold a field day featuring high tunnels for horticultural crops. At 1 p.m. Thursday, Wendy Wintersteen, dean of ISU's College of Agriculture, will speak at the Southeast Research Farm near Crawfordsville on the future of agricultural research.
