FIN 3334
Financial Statement Analysis
Prerequisites
FIN 3331.
Description
The process of understanding financial statements by financial analysts and credit analysts, and
other uses of financial data. Prerequisite: FIN 3331.
Objectives
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
1. Utilize financial statements to determine the creditworthiness of a firm.
2. Utilize financial statements to evaluate the profitability of a firm.
3. Utilize financial statements to evaluate the market strategy of the firm and the quality of its
management.
4. Forecast the future income and cash flow of the firm.
5. Evaluate the quality of financial information.
6. Place a value upon the equity securities of the firm.
Purpose
To provide an in-depth application of financial analytical tools to actual financial statements.
BABA/BSBA Finance major specified elective.
