FIN 3332
Financial Mangement II
Prerequisites
FIN 3331.
Description
Second course in a sequence of corporate finance. Continuation of FIN 3331 with focus on topics
in financial management not covered in FIN 3331.
Objectives
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
1. Calculate the weighted average cost of capital, and explain why it is an important
benchmark.
2. Evaluate capital-budgeting projects using proper financial-analysis techniques.
3. Identify and evaluate real options, and explain how they influence capital budgeting, and
the determination of the optimal capital budget.
4. Calculate working-capital financing needs, and evaluate working capital policy.
5. Forecast additional funding needed from external sources, and analyze stock offerings, bond
offerings, leasing and other alternative financing methods.
6. Evaluate corporate strategies regarding capital structure and dividend policy.
Purpose
To pursue in greater depth the survey of principles, concepts, and tools of analysis in corporate
finance begun in the antecedent course. This course is a continuation of the FIN 3331 covering
topics not covered in the first course of this sequence.
