It is recommended that this course be taken concurrently with the BSBA capstone course, MGT 4476. Course Description The purpose of this course is to strengthen the student's competencies in each of the major functional areas of business, including accounting, finance, global/international and business ethics issues. The course focuses on an application and understanding of business via case studies and experiential activities. Student Learning Outcomes: On completion of the course, the student will be able to: 1. Describe the interactions among the functional areas of business – Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, etc. – based on the perspective of an organization as a system. 2. Demonstrate the ability to integrate functional knowledge and skills via the development or analysis of a business plan, case analysis or and/or other experiential activities. 3. Discuss the sources, nature, and impacts of the stresses as a business conducts operations internationally. 4. Identify and assess the impact of current challenges in the areas of ethical considerations, global operations, and sustainability issues on an organization’s situation.
