Medtrack Research Analyst Medtrack, part of the Informa group, is a business intelligence provider for the life science industry. The web based platform combines scientific information with commercial opportunities, including comprehensive coverage of pharmaceutical companies and their pipelines, deals and transactions, epidemiology and patents data. Role Description The Research Analyst is broadly responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the Medtrack database, providing support to clients and internal sales teams, and supporting special analytics projects as necessary. These objectives are achieved through a solid understanding of the standard operating procedures and business rules of the database, devising basic database search strategies for clients, and performing basic data analysis. This is a full-time, entry-level role and does not require previous experience in the life science field, however, this would be a plus. This role will be a home based position, preferably in the Scranton, PA or San Diego area . Role Responsibilities Content Review Acquire basic understanding of Medtrack’s scope and content coverage by becoming familiar with standard operating procedures (SOP’s), business rules and front end functionality Acquire basic understanding of and competence in internal content management and all processes related to record creation and maintenance Review drug, company and deal information for accuracy based on original sources (such as company websites, medical literature/conferences, SEC filings, press releases, regulatory agencies) and adherence to SOP’s and business rules Develop an understanding of the drug development process, and other key industry drivers such as deals and alliances, epidemiology and patents Other data quality-control projects as necessary Client Support Provide clients with timely, coherent and accurate responses to inquiries Conduct primary/secondary research, assist with database search strategies and perform basic data analysis Apply knowledge of the regulatory process, pharmaceutical drug development and clinical trials to provide highest quality data and research support to clients Assist sales teams with in-depth product demonstrations and trainings Role Requirements Bachelor’s degree (in Life Sciences, Economics or Finance a plus) Some experience at a pharmaceutical/biotech company or consulting/research firm is preferred but not required. Internship experience will be considered. Familiarity with drug development process and associated pharmaceutical markets, preferred but not required Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy Strong internet research skills Ability to use sound logic to edit, manipulate and analyze different types of data.
