Reporting into the Group Marketing Director, the Head of Marketing will be overall responsible for the global marketing strategy and implementation for the Informa Financial vertical including building and growing a high performing global marketing function. This is a senior strategic leadership role with responsibility for the output and effectiveness of a marketing function consisting of product marketing and marketing communications functions. They will work closely with and confidently lead/influence the vertical, including management team on all marketing activity for the vertical. They will also confidently lead and influence senior decision-makers in the wider Business Intelligence Division including the CEO and other Senior Directors. The ideal candidate will possess the following: Solid experience of working in a senior marketing leadership role (preferably in a B2B environment), with the ability to provide industry-level view of best practice Experience within the finance industry is essential Experience within a B2B intelligence environment is preferred Experience of driving strategic growth within a business is essential Strategic thinking – ability to formulate and achieve challenging strategic objectives, based on clear understanding of market trends, customer needs and business imperatives Extensive experience of developing strategic frameworks and processes, good understanding of marketing theory, including the marketing mix and the promotional mix Strong leadership skills – ability to instil vision through personal drive, building enthusiasm and commitment in order to implement well-defined strategies and pursue long-term goals with energy and tenacity. Excellent influencing and negotiating skills – ability to develop strategic working relationships with sales, marketing, product, editorial, publishing, design and web teams Strong customer focus – ability to identify and distinguish between customers, focus on their needs and engage them through communications activities Strong decision-making – confident and experienced to make timely and effective decisions, and take prompt action to accomplish objectives and goals beyond the basics. Proven project management skills- ability to manage the entire lifecycle of multiple projects with competing demands for limited resources, on time and within budget Drive for results – ensure that marketing strategies drive the required business results, persistently seeking to improve business performance, with the energy and tenacity to address bottlenecks and barriers.
