Classroom Guidelines
1.
Treat each person in this room with dignity and respect. You must respect your classmates, your teacher and yourself, as well as everything in the classroom.
2.
Follow directions the first time.
3.
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Respect that other people have their own personal space.
4.
No swearing, teasing, or name calling
5.
Be in the classroom when the bell rings and begin the “bell work” that is posted on the board.
6.
At the end of class, the bell does not dismiss you, I do. Bring all your materials to class and take all your things with you.
7.
You may have a water bottle in class but you are responsible for cleaning up any spills.
However, no food please.
8.
Behave in the OLS way.
If You Are Absent:
A. It is your responsibility to make-up any assignments or tests in a timely manner when you return from an absence.
Buddy system: Find a responsible buddy in the class. Whenever you are absent, you are responsible for the work we did in class. Ask your buddy for the homework and missed notes and copy them at the end of class, not during the lesson.
If you need to make-up a test, you must make arrangements with the teacher during the last 5 minutes of class. Tests can only be made up before school or during lunch and only if previous arrangements have been made.
B. E-mail assignments = If you have access to the Internet at home, you may e-mail me at: mzolpis@redeemer.ab.ca and ask for missing work. Homework will also be posted on the class website.
If You Are Late:
Come in as quietly as possible to not disturb the lesson that has already started or students who are working independently. Take your seat and join in the activity. If you don't know what the class is doing, raise your hand and wait until the teacher sees you.
When You Finish Early: If you finish all of your assigned work early, you may a) read independently b) work on an assignment for another class c) write or d) draw. However, do not talk or disturb others as it will distract those who may not be finished.
Turning in Assignments:
Sometimes your homework, group-work or individual work done in class will be collected. Make sure each assignment has your full name, course code and the date on it. This should be on the top margin of your paper or on the title page.
