Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities: To manage the royalty reporting process and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of royalty statements The reconciliation of royalty accounts To assist the royalty payment process To drive forward efficiency gains within the royalty reporting process To work closely with the rest of the finance team, business information and legal team Prepare monthly royalty reports for submission to labels, publishers and other content partners Perform analysis of system interface and monitor any track mapping errors Prepare journal entries, royalty account reconciliations, and lead schedules Prepare monthly billing variance analysis and manage queries from labels and publishers Prepare label and publisher royalty expense analyses Assist with audit requests Obtain good working knowledge of label and publisher contracts and deals with other partners Assist with royalty projects such as updates to reporting system for new applications Special Projects as needed Essential Competencies/Skills: 3+ years of Accounting experience Proven royalty experience within a major royalty or music licensing department Excellent ability to quickly read, understand and assess a contract Strong analytical and organizational skills Excellent oral and written communication skills needed in interacting with various departments Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word Strong communication skills and the ability to be a team player Good all round knowledge of music industry including external bodies is preferred, but not essential Education Required: Degree in finance or accounting. Part qualified ACCA/CA/ACA B in GCSE Maths
