Minutes of Missouri State University Panhellenic
October 2, 2013
The General Council meeting was called to order by President Jessica Willard at 4:00 pm at the PSU
Parliamentary Room. The roll was called by Vice President of Administration, Kelly McCall.

Tristan from Maroon Madness: Wanting sororities to be more involved with Maroon Madness. T-shirts
with all the letters on the back. Attendance incentive. 40% membership of each chapter entered into attendance
competition.

OFFICER REPORTS
I.

a. PHA Applications are due Oct. 18th by 4pm in the OSE

II.
VP of Community Relations, Allyson Liefer (Liefer114@live.missouristate.edu)
a. The Stomp Out Hunger All-Collegiate Shoe drive embodies the MSU Public Affairs Mission as well
as the 2013-14 public affairs theme, Global Perspective: Why it matters. The show drive will take
place September 28-October 19, 2013. The collected shoes will be donated to Springfield-based Sole
Food, a project of Friends Against Hunger. Once shoes are collected, Sole Food, in affiliation with
Shoeman Water Projects, exports those shoes to developing countries. 100% of the funds Sole Food
generates from the export of their collected shoes goes to Friends Against Hunger, a Springfield-based
non-profit that packages and distributes meals to hungry people in the US and around the world. By
donating used shoes, students, faculty, and staff will provide not only shoes, but also food and clean
water to those in need around the world. Go home on Fall Break and bring back shoes to DONATE! 
b. Meals-A-Million Pack-A-Thon is coming up. It will be held November 15, 16, 17 th at the Springfield
Exposition Center. They need a total of 4,500 volunteers to package 1 MILLION MEALS in three
days. They are looking for volunteers to work in two-hour shifts in an assembly line fashion. Meals a
Million will start on November 15th at 10:00AM.
c. Your chapter Presidents will be receiving an email regarding Halloween in the Halls (October 30 th)
d. If for any reason your philanthropy/service chairs need an extension on paperwork (waiting on
signatures, finalizing amount, etc) they must contact me or Corey Hollander BEFORE the due date of
