Coordinator, College Credit Now This job is a temporary, non-benefited position in the Academic Affairs Division. Salary: Targeted salary is up to $19 per hour. Schedule: This position is temporary for a period not to exceed nine (9) consecutive calendar months. There must be a separation of employment for a period of at least thirty (30) calendar days before becoming eligible for re-employment in this position or any other temporary position within the college. Availability to work Monday through Thursday between 8 am and 6 pm and on Friday between 8 am and 4 pm. Occasional Saturdays and some evenings. Schedule is subject to change. Flexibility a must. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree from an accredited institution *and* experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint. One to two years of experience performing clerical tasks of routine difficulty. Preferred Qualifications: (In addition to minimum qualifications) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Admissions counseling and recruitment experience in an academic setting. Work experience in post-secondary education using a student information system or K-12 school system. Job Description Summary: Under general supervision, assists state, secondary and postsecondary instructional leadership in the planning and development of career programs of study including articulation, dual, joint, and Accel enrollment opportunities that leads to either an industry recognized credential, postsecondary certificate of credit, diploma, or associates degree. Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Assist with the coordination, development and implementation of dual, joint, and Accel enrollment programs as well as articulation at a technical college. Creates and maintains an up-to-date written process for dual, joint, and Accel enrollment as well as the articulation process. Secures proper signatures required by the Technical College System of Georgia and the Department of Education (DOE) for dual and joint enrollment programs and articulation agreements in a timely manner. Provides information to students on program offerings and facilitates the admissions process, including arranging for placement testing, application collection, transfer of transcripts, and financial aid completion. Coordinates with high schools, the registration and withdrawal of students in the program in an organized and timely manner. Evaluates dual, joint, and Accel applicants' files to ensure that specific admission criteria have been met. Coordinates with financial aid staff regarding tuition, fees, and HOPE grants/scholarships in a professional and timely manner. Coordinates the entry of application information into the student information system. Verifies that each student is in the appropriate program of study based on schedule of classes and that each student's classes are within the program of study for financial aid purposes. Provides high school personnel with quarterly schedules for students participating in off-campus programs. Communicates and educates secondary staff about the dual enrollment and articulation matrixes. Facilitates secondary/postsecondary articulation activities such as annual articulation meetings. Tracks data for dual, joint, Accel, and articulated credit enrollees and graduates for completion/graduation from the technical college. 2. Assist in the development and implement career and technical programs of study. 3. Coordinates ASSET/COMPASS testing for dual, joint, and Accel enrollment students. 4. Uses knowledge of program to determine gaps in basic skills necessary to matriculate successfully into the technical college programs. Creates a schedule for ASSET/COMPASS prep sessions, testing, and retesting in all high schools in the assigned area. Provides accurate instructions on testing and answers questions in a courteous manner. Reports scores to secondary schools, and if requested, to individual students in a timely manner. Maintains accurate records of ASSET/COMPASS scores for dual, joint, and Accel enrollment students and articulated credit awards. Enters data within specified time frames. Assists in attaining and delivering text books for dual enrolled students. 5. Coordinates book orders with campus bookstore in a timely manner. Ensures student accounts remain accurate. Ensures correct number of books is delivered to students in off-campus programs in a timely manner. Coordinates the collection of money for books and ensures correct number of books is returned that are not purchased. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences and by reading professional literature in the related technical field. 6. Attends internal and external educational programs and professional meetings as requested. Participates in regular meetings of available and applicable professional organizations. Reads professional literature and translates complex or technical information into a meaningful format that may be understood by others. Coordinates meetings, establishes agendas and records accurate minutes of meetings . Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. 7. Serves as liaison with educational, industrial, and advocacy partners to encourage cooperation and partnerships. Serves on special committees and task forces as program area specialist. Promotes equitable participation for special needs students in non-traditional programs. Disseminates information to appropriate state and local staff. Coordinates efforts with the college’s public relations office to provide information on dual, joint, Accel, and articulation opportunities. Facilitates involvement of local school system personnel and parents. Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work. Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; does things before being asked or forced to by events.
