Move On When Ready Manager - Gwinnett Employment Terms: This job is a full time, benefited, FLSA Exempt/administrative position in the Academic Affairs Division. Salary: Targeted salary is commensurate with education and experience not to exceed the budgeted amount of $50,000 per year. Job Description Summary: Under general supervision, assists state, secondary and postsecondary instructional leadership in the planning and development of career programs of study including articulation, dual (Move on When Ready – MOWR), and joint enrollment opportunities that lead to either an industry recognized credential, postsecondary certificate of credit, diploma, or associates degree. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution *and* two years of related work experience OR five years of related work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint. Admissions counseling and recruitment experience at a college or technical college. Instructional experience in a high school setting. Work experience in post-secondary education using a student information system or K-12 school system. Experience as a High School Coordinator at GTC within the previous twelve months. Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Coordinates the development and implementation of “Move On When Ready” (MOWR) dual enrollment programs as well as articulation at a technical college. Serves as primary point of contact for and collaborates with high school administrators, counselors and staff to promote a seamless guidance system between secondary and post secondary institutions in a professional manner. Creates and maintains an up-to-date written process for MOWR dual enrollment as well as the articulation process. Secures proper signatures required by the Technical College System of Georgia and the Department of Education (DOE) for dual MOWR enrollment programs and articulation agreements in a timely manner. Provides information to students on program offerings and facilitates the admissions process, including arranging for placement testing, application collection, transfer of transcripts, and financial aid completion. Coordinates with high schools, the registration and withdrawal of students in the program in an organized and timely manner. Responsible for the initial and continuing education of public and private middle and high school administrators, counselors, and teachers relative to MOWR dual enrollment programs as well as articulation. Evaluates MOWR dual enrollment applicants' files to ensure that specific admission criteria have been met. Coordinates with financial aid staff regarding tuition, fees, and HOPE grants/scholarships in a professional and timely manner. Coordinates the entry of application information into the student information system. Verifies that each student is in the appropriate program of study based on schedule of classes and that each student's classes are within the program of study for financial aid purposes. Provides high school personnel with quarterly schedules for students participating in off-campus programs. Communicates and educates secondary staff about the MOWR dual enrollment and articulation matrixes. Facilitates secondary/postsecondary articulation activities such as annual articulation meetings. Facilitates the awarding of individual student articulated credit at the technical college level. Tracks data for MOWR dual credit enrollees and graduates for completion/graduation from the technical college. 2. Develop and implement career and technical programs of study. 3. Serves as liaison with educational, industrial, and advocacy partners to encourage cooperation and partnerships. Serves on special committees and task forces as program area specialist. Promotes equitable participation for special needs students in non-traditional programs. Disseminates information to appropriate state and local staff. Coordinates efforts with the college’s public relations office to provide information on MOWR dual enrollment and articulation opportunities. Facilitates involvement of local school system personnel and parents. Coordinates ASSET/COMPASS testing for MOWR dual enrollment students. 4. Uses knowledge of program to determine gaps in basic skills necessary to matriculate successfully into the technical college programs. Creates a schedule for ASSET/COMPASS prep sessions, testing, and retesting in all high schools in the assigned area. Provides accurate instructions on testing and answers questions in a courteous manner. Reports scores to secondary schools, and if requested, to individual students in a timely manner. Maintains accurate records of ASSET/COMPASS scores for MOWR dual enrollment students and articulated credit awards. Enters data within specified time frames. Assists in attaining and delivering text books for MOWR dual enrolled students. 5. Coordinates book orders with campus bookstore in a timely manner. Ensures student accounts remain accurate. Ensures correct number of books is delivered to students in off-campus programs in a timely manner. Coordinates the collection of money for books and ensures correct number of books is returned that are not purchased. Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation. 6. Defines goals and/or required results at beginning of performance period. Communicates regularly with staff on progress toward defined goals and/or required results, providing specific feedback and initiating corrective action when defined goals and/or required results are not met. Motivates staff to improve quantity and quality of work performed and provides training and development opportunities as appropriate. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences and by reading professional literature in the related technical field. 7. Attends internal and external educational programs and professional meetings as requested. Participates in regular meetings of available and applicable professional organizations. Reads professional literature and translates complex or technical information into a meaningful format that may be understood by others. Coordinates meetings, establishes agendas and records accurate minutes of meetings. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work.
