The Giver
Final Assignment
Now that we have reached the end of our novel we can think about
our final task.
This will be an individual assignment. The novel “The Giver” ends
after 23 chapters. It ends in a manner that leads us to believe there is
something waiting for Jonas and Gabriel. With that idea in mind you
will be writing a new chapter for the book. You will be writing
chapter 24.
Continue the story of Jonas and Gabe to extend the story. We leave
them streaking down a hill in deep snow on the sled that Jonas
recalled from his first memories from the Giver. As he moves down
the hill the wind blows on his face and body and he gets colder and
colder...
The chapter should be one page typed. Use your knowledge from the
book and your own thinking to create the new chapter.
This assignment will be due Tuesday March 20th, 2012
