Joseph Poats, MBA
Joe Poats is a vice president in Cap Gemini Ernst & Young’s (CGE&Y) National Health Consulting
practice, and is based in Walnut Creek, CA. Mr. Poats is responsible for Cap Gemini Ernst &
Young’s Healthcare Information Technology services delivered to West Coast healthcare
providers. He has extensive experience in planning, designing and implementing process and
technology solutions in a variety of health care settings, both as a consultant and as a CIO.
Prior to joining CGE&Y, Mr. Poats was an executive for Andersen Consulting, as well as Chief
Information Officer for a multi-hospital integrated delivery system. Mr. Poats earned a Bachelor of
Arts in Chemistry, from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and completed an MBA in
Finance and Operations at Wake Forest University.
