1. You must have a copy of what we call “the AMSCO book”-- UNITED STATES HISTORY: PREPARING
FOR THE ADVANCED PLACEMENT EXAM (2015 Edition)—Cost-- $18.95 .
- Most of you will have a copy from last year. If you do not, you must purchase a new one. You can
purchase a used copy of the book from a student that has previously taken the class, but it must be the
2015 edition of the book. If you want your own copy, this book has to be purchased online from the
publisher using the directions below. You must have the 2015 edition of this book.
- ORDERING PROCEDURE: Go to http://www.amscopub.com/us-history-preparing-for-ap-exam You
can order the book by clicking the online purchasing tab. It is listed under “American History” titles. We
will use this text all year long, and it will function as your primary review tool for the APUSH exam in
May. THIS BOOK IS NOT TYPICALLY SOLD IN BOOKSTORES, SO PLEASE ACQUIRE A COPY
ASAP. Due to the popularity of the book, it does go on backorder every summer. It should be ordered by
mid-June to be certain that it will arrive in time for you to complete your assignments.
2. This class has an online textbook. There is a class set of textbooks for use during the school day, but it is
important to note that at home you will be using an online textbook.
Assignments
1. Join the APUSH 11 Google classroom. The
join code is 4p66l8i. Joining is your first
graded assignment for this class. Failure to join
Google classroom will limit your access to all
other summer assignments.
2. If you do not already have one, purchase 2015
AMSCO APUSH review text from a former
student or online--- see details above.
You will find all of the rest of your assignments through
Google classroom, along with their due dates.

There are four graded assignments over the summer. Here is a handy dandy checklist to make sure that you
don't miss anything:
 Join Google classroom and complete Parent Contact Information Form Due by June 12th.
 Chapter 15 Guided Reading Activity-- should be printed and completed in ink. Due on the first day
of school.
 Unit 4 (1844-1877) Review Activity-- should be printed and completed in ink AFTER you complete
the Chapter 15 Guided Reading activity. Due on the first day of school.
 Reconstruction Quiz covering the content of the above activities-- second day of school. If you
complete your summer assignments early, that is awesome.  Just make sure you review them before
school starts.

classroom. I will check my email periodically throughout the summer. Please make a genuine attempt at
completing the assignments prior to emailing with specific questions regarding the assignments themselves.
Most of your questions should be answered with a good thorough reading of the directions.
