Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in
research and did informal education in marine
science.

APES?
The course follows the specific objectives found in the Course

Description for AP Environmental Science. It is to be equivalent to
an introductory college level course of one semester duration.
Emphasis is placed on understanding of how the natural world
functions, the interrelationships, and the forces that affect it,
especially mankind.
 Must receive a 3 or higher to receive college credit.
 All students enrolled in AP environmental Science are required to
complete the summer reading assignment and take a quiz. They
are expected to stay on top of the reading (approximately one
chapter per week plus supplements) and take the weekly chapter
quizzes. The students are expected to keep an up to date notebook
containing notes from these readings. Major Tests cover three or
four chapters, given approximately four times per semester. Each
semester there are also several group projects/labs.

Class Routine
 FRQ every Friday- can use hand written chapter notes
 TEST every 3-4 weeks (multiple choice)
 Study guide will be posted two weeks before each test
 Test corrections can be done after the test- earn back
0.35 pts for each correct answer.
