JOB TITLE: REPORTS TO: EMPLOYMENT STATUS: TIME COMMITMENT: STARTING SALARY: Site Coordinator, Homeless Services Center & Nightingale Program Manager, Homeless Services and Housing Non-exempt Full-time Position Summary The Site Coordinator supervises the site management staff of the drop-in Homeless Services Center and Nightingale shelter. The Site Coordinator is also responsible for oversight and coordination of the safe operation of the day-to-day activities of the facilities. Essential Functions 1. Supervise and direct employees and volunteers, ensuring staff management meets agency minimum requirements for job evaluation, problem solving, and employee discipline. Ensure that employee training meets accreditation standards and funding requirements and employees follow all data collection, accreditation and funding guidelines. 2. Prepare monthly work schedule for site managers. Prepare alternate coverage plans or cover for site managers or night monitors when necessary due to illness, vacation, or emergencies. 3. Prepare client chore list and monitor that all chores are completed. 4. Oversee daily safety/cleanliness inspections; take appropriate action with clients when standards are not met. 5. Notify maintenance worker of needed maintenance in resident rooms and throughout the shelter facilities. 6. Maintain necessary supplies in site room; do regular inventory and order supplies as needed. 7. Manage all donations to the facility according to program policies. 8. Participate in case management meetings and contribute to leadership of the center. Attend all staff meetings. 9. Implement policies and procedures in line with accreditation standards. Implement performance and quality improvement process in compliance with agency’s process. Site Coordinator, HSC/Brookwood Revised 1/2012 Communicate changes and new rules/regulations to site manager staff; ensure that all COA operational policies and procedures are implemented and enforced. 10. Research and apply best practices both from local agencies and nationally. Follow shelter (COA) procedures for handling emergencies such as fire evacuation, police intervention, injury reports, and follow (COA) procedures for case management, program implementation/coordination, etc. 11. Perform quality checks on Site Manager Checklists to ensure that all initialed items are completed correctly. 12. Continue to build relationships with in the community through one-on-one networking, group meetings, and public outreach to help form partnerships, which will provide more resources for residents to break the cycle of homelessness. 13. Reach out to unsheltered homeless to provide resources and refer to Catholic Charities homeless programs. 14. NOTE: Catholic Charities considers this position to be a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse. Other Responsibilities 1. Attend all in-service trainings and participate in leadership building. 2. Sort, store, and dispense of donations. 3. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Experience, and Skills Required 1. Minimum of two years of college preferred, with area of study in psychology, sociology, human or child development, or other human or social services. Relevant work experience in similar environment may be substituted for some college work. 2. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. 3. Demonstrated experience in working with the homeless or low income families. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to provide excellent customer service to all those in contact with agency’s homeless services. 5. Ability to work under pressure. Experience in crisis intervention and problem solving with ability to diffuse situation without heightening the conflict. 6. Ability to thrive in a flexible, fast paced and growth-oriented environment, while maintained a positive, solution-oriented approach. 7. Have working knowledge of community resources. 8. Exhibit the core competencies, habits, critical thinking, attitudes, behavior, and drive to help make Catholic Charities and its programs a center of excellence and a model program. 9. Ability to collect and report on data required for grants and other funding sources. 10. Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure positive, constructive environment within the program or department, and throughout the agency. Physical Requirements 1. Ability to walk for up to 8 hours per day with intermittent occasional standing, bending, squatting, or climbing. 2. Ability to lift items up to 30 pounds to a height up to 5 feet. 3.
