Summary: Reporting to the Operations and Marketing Director, the CCDOF Facilities
Maintenance/Janitor is responsible for the overall maintenance and janitorial needs of the 149 N.
Fulton Street Fresno site. This includes overseeing the entire daily operations of the building and each department’s needs. The Facilities Maintenance/Janitor needs to keep the Operations and
Marketing Director aware of any maintenance issues that can be of a liability to the agency. All issues must be reported and addressed in a timely manner. Preventive maintenance is key to maintaining the upkeep of the facility. In addition, the Facilities Maintenance/Janitor needs to be able to work with our staff and clientele in a respectful dignified manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Be organized and able to delegate tasks to fellow staff and volunteers.
Treat all customers with dignity and respect.
Clean entrance glass- daily
Clean reception area-daily
Vacuum all carpeted areas- 2 times a week
Detail vacuum edges & corners- 2 times a week
Detail vacuum under desks- 2 times a week
Wipe trash receptacles- daily
Empty and replace trash liners- as needed
Dust office furniture- 1 a week
Clean mirrors & glass- 2 times a week
Spot clean mirrors and glass- 2 times a week
Sweep and damp mop tiled areas- 3 times a week
Clean and shine all glass doors- 4 times a week
Polish wood surfaces- 1 a week
Dust picture frames- 1 a week
Dust window sills, ledges, and mini blinds- 2 times a month
Dust table and chair legs, baseboards, etc.- 2 times a week
Vacuum upholstered furniture- 2 times a week or as needed
Wipe clean switch plate and door jambs- 3 times a week
Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures- daily
Clean mirrors in restroom's- daily
Clean toilet partitions and product dispensers- 3 times a week
Replenish restroom paper products and soap- daily
Provide Floor Maintenance- 2 times a week
Window Cleaning- 2 times a week
Power Washing- 1 time a month or as needed

Carpet Cleaning- spills or spots as needed
Maintenance of exterior building
Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, using mowers and hand and power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds.
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
Additional duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Work with volunteers and workers from various organizations and programs.

The Facilities Maintenance/Janitor will have additional capabilities that include:
Provide leadership, direction, and development with all staff and volunteers to ensure that the highest standards are being met.
Build excellent working relationships among all departments at Catholic Charities including, but not limited to, the Payee, Senior Companion, Thrift Store, Warehouse, and Intake
Department.

Consistently deliver high quality services that are aligned with the agency’s mission and values.
Remain knowledgeable about the services provided by Catholic Charities.
Qualifications: Previous work experience in a janitorial/maintenance setting is required.
Experience must show general knowledge and mastery of janitorial/maintenance, customer service skills, and ability to delegate and supervise. Only experienced need apply.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Graduate or GED. Certificate of Janitorial/Maintenance courses is required.
Language Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with both clientele and staff. Ability to speak Spanish desirable.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to know basic math skills.
