OA@NC Role Description – Membership Coordinator The role of the Membership Coordinator is to act as the primary liaison between the association and its membership base. The Membership Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of membership recruitment and maintenance of membership records. The Membership Coordinator will be expected to provide support in the recruitment of members, organization of membership events, and facilitating of interaction between members and the Executive Committee. Desirable Attributes: The Membership Coordinator should: be well informed of all organization activities be able to work collaboratively with other Executive Committee Members be a good listener and attuned to the interests of members have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills be a good role model and a positive image for the Association Specific duties include but are not limited to: Ensuring that members understand and appreciate the direct and indirect benefits of membership Ensuring that formal records are maintained of members of the Association and Committee. He / she ensures that these records are available when required for reports and other purposes. Membership communication: Use appropriate forms of communications with OA@NC membership base by promptly responding to enquiries and helping to build and maintain relationships and networks by updating the membership database Assist with creating or revising membership materials as needed (ie: membership cards, certificates etc.) Assist with maintaining accurate information for and about members (hard copy and electronically) Coordination of members for events: Assist in OA@NC membership recruitment Assist in the development of strategies that will promote the participation of members in OA@NC events Assist in the coordination of other events relevant to OA@NC membership Membership development: Work on effectively promoting and marketing membership with the organization Provide reports on membership numbers, assist in the creation of an annual membership report to the Executive Committee and Faculty Advisor. Delegation or sharing of duties with others as necessary
