Position Summary
The Assistant Site Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the oversight and coordination of
the safe operation of the day-to-day activities of both the adult day program as well as the
BRIDGES program at the Betty Kwan Chinn Day Center. They will also oversee on-site
volunteers.
Essential Functions
1. Supervise and direct volunteers, ensuring volunteers meets agency minimum
requirements for job evaluation, problem solving, and employee discipline. Ensure that
training meets accreditation standards and funding requirements and volunteers follow
all data collection, accreditation and funding guidelines.
2. Perform daily task of checking the child log, highlighting running record of cents who
visit the Center that day, and assist with covering intakes and client appointments
when necessary.
3. Perform weekly tasks of reviewing volunteer schedules for Adult Day Program and
BRIDGES, ensure that there are snack items available for BRIDGES snack, and
participate in weekly conference call with Director of Shelter and Housing and
Operations Manager.
4. Perform bi-monthly tasks of writing reminders in Case Management log to check mail
on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month as well as submit and review timesheet by
assigned deadline.
5. Perform monthly tasks of updating client list from Excel Spreadsheet onto monthly
Running Record, ensure BRIDGES has raffle prizes for monthly incentive program, and
ensure that we have snacks for adult day program as well.
6. Assist in the daily safety/cleanliness inspections, as well as monthly safety/facility
inspections for all sites, and take appropriate action with clients when standards are not
met.

7. Ensure timely delivery of services and fill in for volunteer as appropriate.
8. Reach out to unsheltered homeless to provide resources and refer to Catholic Charities
homeless programs.
9. Participate in case management meetings and contribute to leadership of the program.
Attend all staff meetings.
10. Implement policies and procedures in line with accreditation standards. Implement
performance and quality improvement process in compliance with agency’s process.
11. Research and apply best practices both from local agencies and nationally. Follow
shelter (COA) procedures for handling emergencies such as fire evacuation, police
intervention, injury reports, and follow (COA) procedures for case management,
program implementation/coordination, etc.
12. Continue to build relationships with in the community through one-on-one networking,
group meetings, and public outreach to help form partnerships, which will provide
more resources for residents to break the cycle of homelessness.
13. Ensure that all staff are adequately trained and utilize client tracking software per
regulations and agency policy.
14. NOTE: Catholic Charities considers this position to be a mandated reporter of elder
and child abuse.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
1.
A BA in psychology, sociology, or related field required and prior comparable work
experience. Extended work experience may be substituted for some of the degree
requirements.
2.
Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Demonstrated experience in working with the homeless or low income families.
Sensitivity to issues surrounding families experiencing homelessness, substance abuse,
mental illness, or physical handicaps.
4.
Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to provide excellent customer
service to all those in contact with agency’s homeless services.
5.
Ability to work under pressure. Experience in crisis intervention and problem solving
with ability to diffuse situation without heightening the conflict.
6.
Ability to thrive in a flexible, fast paced and growth-oriented environment, while
maintained a positive, solution-oriented approach.
7.
Have working knowledge of community resources.
8.
Exhibit the core competencies, habits, critical thinking, attitudes, behavior, and drive to
help make Catholic Charities and its programs a center of excellence and a model
program.
9.
Ability to collect and report on data required for grants and other funding sources.
10.
Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Ability to work
closely with other employees to ensure positive, constructive environment within the
program or department, and throughout the agency.
Physical Requirements
1.
Ability to walk for up to 8 hours per day with intermittent occasional standing,
bending, squatting, or climbing.
2.
Ability to lift items up to 30 pounds to a height up to 5 feet.
3.
Ability to carry items up to 50 pounds for distances up to 100 yards and from 51 to 100
pounds up to 10 feet.
