Natasha Boyer Dawnyel Reese Eng 1102 Mrs. Mattox The short story that intrigued my interest is “Lust” by Susan Minot. It easily grasps the concept of how a young female reacts toward the opposite sex. I believe Susan Minot’s female readers are able to comprehend and relate to this story on a personal level. I really enjoy the style and tone used by Susan Minot throughout the story. The style and tone is quick and decisive just as any young teen’s decisions. I recommend all female’s read Susan Minot’s short story “Lust” because you will walk away with a better sense of reality, yourself, and others. This story proves in reality individuals that are having promiscuous sex are not necessarily disrespecting themselves. Therefore, if peers can accept this statement the cycle of love/hate relationships in teenage life would cease to exist. So many times we find ourselves giving into peer pressure and failing with our expectations. After reading this story one can have a better understanding of events that take place in our lives and reasons of why it happened. Although other individuals in our class had excellent oral reports, our story affected us the most. I feel like this class has given me the opportunity to view others opinions. Therefore, I know that I will walk away from this class with more perspective of the world and the people in it.
