ASX AUSTRACLEAR ECD AND EPN MINIMUM FACE VALUE
Austraclear Regulation 8A.1 and its associated Procedure prescribes the features of a
Dematerialised security that may be deposited in the ASX Austraclear system.
Further, ASIC Class Order (CO02/281) issued on 5 March 2002, provides relief for Participants
from certain obligations under the Corporations Act, including relief that facilitates paperless issues
and transfers of Dematerialised Securities.
In order to benefit from the class order relief, Participants must ensure that all ECDs and EPNs in
the Austraclear system have a minimum $50,000 face value at all times.
Effective from 1st June 2011, the template in the Austraclear system enabling the creation of ECDs
and EPNs has been updated to enforce a minimum volume and multiple volume of $50,000. This
will ensure that at the point of deposit and in the event of subsequent transfer or settlement, all
ECDs and EPNs held in the Austraclear system will comply with the minimum face value
requirement.
