CHOL THEATRE REQUESTS EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FROM PROSPECTIVE NEW BOARD MEMBERS Chol Theatre is looking for dynamic and experienced professionals to join its Board. Now approaching its 21st year, the company is looking to build on its excellent reputation with plans to augment the Board by at least 2 members. Chol Theatre is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. Following a period of development, we are now looking for new Directors/Trustees to join our Board. Board members would be expected to attend perfomances and other events and to advocate for the company on occasion. We would expect Board members to provide advice and support on one area of the company’s work and to be prepared to offer the equivalent of one day a month to the company. Duties and Responsibilities The following describes the areas normally covered by Trustees. An individual Trustee may contribute more to a specific area than another depending upon their skills and experience. A fuller description of duties and responsibilities is available upon request. Legal and Financial To ensure prudent financial management and operation in accordance with Company and Charity Law Governance To ensure proper governance of the organisationa and to keep Chol to its mission, vision and values Management To act as a line manager to the Director Policy and Strategy To help define Company policies and policy priorities Advocacy To act as an enthusiastic ambassador for the company at all times Artistic To approve the organisation’s programme of activities Time Commitment To meet at least 5 times a year, with 4 quarterly Board meetings in Huddersfield and an away day at another location.
