JOB PURPOSE
To successfully manage our boutique by meeting sales targets and working
with the local community to encourage goodwill towards the Hospice through
professionalism and good practise.

DIMENSIONS
This post has no budgetary implications, however, each shop has its own team
of volunteers and the postholder must be aware of the budgetary implications
for the shop.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Achieve maximum sales through careful selection of goods and prices
that best suit the shop’s location to ensure targets are met.

Working with Gift Aid and encouraging volunteers to promote and
generate more income to achieve annually set budget.

Email and communication with all Rowcroft Shop Managers and Retail
Operations Manager.

Maintain high visual standards in the shop. Ensure that goods are
displayed in such a manner as to encourage sales and repeat custom.

Cashing up and balancing takings accurately through using the Epos
system.

Maintain the public image of Rowcroft through good practice and
excellent customer care, interacting sensitively with our donors and
members of the public.

Maintain a very clean and tidy shop with particular emphasis to areas
where customers have access, ensuring the premises is well presented
and Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.

Maintain high levels of security of the shop building and its contents
whilst on the premises in accordance with Hospice requirements.

To lead and work alongside a team of volunteer staff, and to organise a
volunteer rota to provide sufficient cover in the shop at all times.

Liaise with Retail Operations Manager and Hospice shops
Communication with Hospice departments as necessary, for example,
Finance, Estates and Fundraising.
Awareness of Rowcroft fundraising events and promote good relationship
with Friends of Rowcroft.

Balancing the many demands that occur on a daily basis.

AUDIT CLAUSE
All members of staff are expected to participate in audit assessments as
appropriate.
10.
INFECTION CONTROL CLAUSE
All staff, both clinical and non clinical, are required to adhere to the
organisation's Infection Prevention and Control Policies and make every effort
to maintain high standards of infection control at all times, thereby reducing
the burden of Healthcare Associated Infections including MRSA. All staff
employed by Rowcroft Hospice have the following key responsibilities:
- Staff must decontaminate their hands prior to and after direct patient care
or contact with the patient's surroundings;
- Staff members have a duty to attend mandatory infection control training
provided for them by the Hospice;
- Staff members who develop an infection (other than common colds and
illness) that may be transmittable to patients have a duty to contact

12. JOB DESCRIPTION AGREEMENT
The job description is subject to review. The post may include other duties
and responsibilities as determined by the appointing manager in consultation
with the postholder.
The post is subject to Rowcroft Hospice Foundation Ltd. terms and conditions
of service.
