Working hours 22.5 hours per week including some weekends.
Salary - £13,257 pro rata
6 months initial contract
East Cheshire Hospice, Macclesfield is entering an exciting phase of development for our retail
strategy. To support us we need to recruit a driver for an initial period of 6 months. The successful
candidate will have excellent people and customer service skills, be able to work on their own
initiative and be able to demonstrate good organisational skills.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of two years driving experience a full, clean driving
licence and, for insurance purposes, be aged over 30 and under 70 years old.
In return the successful candidate will join a growing team of retail staff and volunteers, and be able
to contribute to this expanding income generation stream.

Job Title:
Retail Driver
Responsible to: Furniture Shop Supervisor
Accountable to:
Macclesfield Shop Manager
22.5 hours per week
Grade 2.1 £13,257 per annum pro rata
Job Summary
To collect and deliver furniture to and from the East Cheshire Hospice furniture shop.
To achieve delivery on time targets and provide a high quality retail service in relation to agreed
performance targets and standards, including the provision of exceptional customer care, driving
customer loyalty, and ensuring the shops present a professional public face of the Hospice on the
high street.
Key Responsibilities
Business Planning and Financial targets.
 Delivery and collection on time
 Encourage donors to sign up to the gift aid scheme in accordance with guidelines and
meeting agreed targets
Customer Care

Provide a high level of customer care at all times keeping communication channels with
customers open and informing them of any delays or changes to agreed timescales.

To maintain the diary for collections and deliveries.
Safety and Security

Ensure that all statutory responsibilities are adhered to, including Trading standards, Fire
regulations and Health & Safety Regulations

Ensure all training and Health and Safety Checks in connection to company vehicles are
carried out.
Inter-departmental

Occasional work for other departments may be requested and agreed in conjunction with
the shop manager.
Marketing and Representation of ECH Hospice

Enhance the image of ECH through a professional retail service

Liaise with other hospice departments as necessary, ensure that all queries are answered
promptly and that information held in the shop is up to date

Maintain good relations with the public, trade councils, landlords and neighbouring retailers
Administration

Ensure all administration is actioned and filed correctly.
General

Undertake any other appropriate duties required to achieve performance targets and realise
the full potential of the shops.

