VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FULL-TIME TEACHING STAFF AT UMMA UNIVERSITY (For Kajiado and Thika Campus) 1. THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY The University wishes to recruit Full- Time Lecturers for the Trimester January-April 2016 to teach degree and diploma courses in: Bachelor of Business Management(BBM) Bachelor of Computer Science (BCSC) Diploma in Business Management(DBM) Diploma in Information and Communication Technology(DICT) Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance (DBIF) Requirements Applicants should have a PhD in the relevant area, have the necessary teaching experience both at undergraduate and post graduate levels. Applicants with Masters Degree and have extensive experience in teaching and continuing research as evidenced by scholarly publications will be considered especially for Diploma programs. However, Lecturers in Computer Science must have earned a minimum of Masters Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent. Note: Applicants for Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance MUST also have experience in the banking industry especially in Islamic banking. 2. SCHOOL OF SHARIA AND ISLAMIC STUDIES Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates as part-time lecturers for the trimester January – December 2016 for the following courses: Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies. Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Sharia. Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies. Requirements Applicants should have a PhD in the relevant area; have the necessary teaching experience at undergraduate levels. Applicants with teaching experience at post graduate level are highly considered and PhD candidates in the respective areas will also be considered. Applicants with masters’ degree and extensive experience in teaching and continuing research as evidenced by scholarly publications will be considered as well. 3. SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES, DEPARTMENT OF NURSING Requirements Applicants should have a Masters Degree in the relevant nursing speciality; have adequate teaching experience at undergraduate graduate level. Applicants with PhD Degree and have extensive experience in teaching and continuing research as evidenced by scholarly publications will be considered an added advantage. 4. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Requirements Applicants should have a PhD in the relevant area; have the necessary teaching experience at undergraduate levels. Applicants with masters’ degree and extensive experience in teaching and continuing research as evidenced by scholarly publications will be considered as well. 5.
