WHO QUALIFIES TO APPLY?
•
The scholarship support masters and doctoral candidates in the following disciplines:
Biotechnology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Mathematical Sciences, Physics,
Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Chemistry, Engineering, Astronomy,
Nanotechnology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Ecology, Medical Sciences.
•
Scholarships are open to South African citizens and South African permanent
residents only with an honours or master’s degree for studies in the listed Innovation
fields of study.
•
Applicants should have obtained an aggregate of at least 60% in their previous degree.
•
Applicants must have obtained their previous degree in the minimum prescribed period.
An exception is made for Black (African, Coloured and Indian) students who may have
taken an additional year to complete their previous degree.
•
Applicants that already hold a degree at the level for which they are applying are not
eligible.
•
Full- time employees of Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) are not eligible to apply.
All applicants, should only complete an application if they meet all the eligibility criteria
of the call/ programme to be considered.
