Average relative humidity was 89 percent at 0700 hrs and 71 percent at 1400 hrs. Soil temperature at 5 cm depth was 27.8°C at 0700 hrs and 32.5°C at 1400 hrs. Average wind speed, daily sunshine hours and average daily evaporation were 8.7 km/hr, 5.8 hours and 3.4 mm respectively. Apply 40:60:40 kg NPK at the time of transplanting. In view of poor monsoon, vegetable cultivation would be a profitable venture in the upland and medium land areas. Farmers are advised to sow Brinjal, Tomato, Chilli and Onion in the ridge of main field and also sow cucurbit and cluster bean, bitterguar , radish cumin and fenugrick. Inter culturing operations are advised in kharif maize crop. Sowing of kulthi in the upland areas is advised. Seed rate@40-50 kg per hectare is advised. Sowing of Arhar in the upland areas is advised. Bahar, Pusa 9, Narendra Arhar 1 are recommended varieties for sowing. Sowing at 60X20 cm distance is advised. Seed treatment with fungicides such as Difoltan or Thiram or Captan@2.5gm per one kilogram of seeds is advised. Before sowing, seed treatment with rhizobium culture is also advised. Sowing of urd is advised in the upland areas. T-9, Pant U-19, Pant Urd 31, PDU1 are recommended varieties for sowing across north Bihar districts. Seed rate@12-15kg per hectare is advised. Sowing in line at 30 cm and plant to plant 10 cm apart is advised. Earthing up in the sugarcane is advised. Check for stem borer attack if found apply cartap hydrachloride @10 kg /Acre.
