Advisory for the farmers
Crop
Phenophase
Advisory (Based on weather forecast)
 Gundhi bug may appear in rice field during flowering to milky stage.
It causes appreciable losses to crop during milky stage. As a result
individual rice grain becomes white and chaffy. Apply Folidol
dust@10-15 kg per hectre to control Gundhi bug in rice crop in the
Panicle
early morning.
Paddy
initiation
 Constant monitoring of Brown Plant Hopper (BPH) for paddy crop is
advised. This pest may be seen at the basal portion of the plant in the
middle of the crop field. It is looking as mosquito type. If insect
population is above ETL spraying of Imidacloprid 17.8 % SC @ 1.0
ml / 3 lit of water is recommended.
Larva of fruit and shoot borer bores into tender shoots resulting in
drying of tips. It also bores into developing fruits making them unfit for
fruiting
marketing. If infestation is observed in the field, remove and destroy the
Brinjal
affected shoot tips and fruits, after which spraying of spinosad 48 EC
@1ml/ 4liter of water for saving the brinjal crop is advised.
Monitoring is advised in early sown cauliflower for borer/leaf cutting
caterpillar. Use pheromone trap @3-4/acre against this pest. If insect
Cauliflower:
population is above ETL, then, spraying of Spinosad 1.0 ml/4 litre of
water is advised during clear sky condition.
Transplanting of onion crop on raised bed is advised at a distance of
Kharif
Transplanting 15x10cm. After weeding, application of urea fertilizer in 30-35 days old
onion
onion crop is suggested.
Nursery
Sowing of early varieties such as Pride of India, Golden ekar, Pusa
Cabbage:
Sowing
mukta in nursery are recommended.
 Transplanting of tomato, chili, cauliflower and brinjal crops are
advised on raised bed. Weeding is also advised in the 25-30 days old
Transplanting/
crop.
Vegetables
Vegetative  In present weather condition, infestation of termites/cutworm may
occur in vegetables crops. Farmers are advised to spray
Chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 3 ml/litre of water near the root of plant.
Spraying of Glyphosate 41 SL@10-15 ml/litre of water in fallow land is advised during sunny weather.
This weedcides kills many type of weeds. Always use clean water for better results. Don’t spray this
herbicide in any standing crop.
Milch Animals: Provide concentrate feed to milch animals mixed with dry and green fodders and ensure
