The Roaring Twenties
You are a newspaper reporter living in the United States during the 1920s and
working for a major metropolitan newspaper. Your job is to research and write a
newspaper article. You must choose one of the topics listed on the attached page.









The article must be at least 300 words and no more than 600 words.
The article must describe the importance of, and contribution of the topic to
the United States (its society and history) from that point in time.
The article must include enough background information to enable anyone
with no knowledge of the 1920s to understand the topic.
You must have a good, eye catching, head turning title for the article.
The newspaper article must have an introductory sentence that will grab your
attention.
The article must have correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
The article must include one relevant photo concerning the topic.
You must use at least three different resources, with at least one print
resource and one web based resource.
There must be a separate bibliography (list of sources used) written according
to the MLA format.
Remember – you are a reporter from the 1920s with no knowledge of any events
after December 31, 1929.
