Classification Retail, Distribution, and Sales > Distribution Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Range Electrical goods movement equipment - one or more of - battery powered buggies, fork trucks, tugs, pallet jacks. 2 The following unit standards may be considered relevant to and/or supportive of this unit standard, but are not prerequisite unit standards: Unit 11963, Dispatch goods in a retail or distribution environment; Unit 11975, Pick and assemble goods for despatch in a retail or distribution environment; and Unit 11979, Package goods in a distribution facility. 3 Definitions Distribution facility refers to a workplace where the primary focus is on storage and distribution of stock. Agreed indicates a course of action that is agreed between two or more people (including the candidate) and which follows organisational procedures. Organisational procedures refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures which are formally documented, or generally accepted within the workplace. Evidence requirements 1.1 Equipment selected is fit for purpose. 1.2 Pre-operational checks for equipment are completed in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. Equipment is operational and available for use within agreed timeframe. Outcome 2 Operate electrical goods movement equipment. Evidence requirements 2.1 Equipment is operated in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. 2.2 Equipment is operated in a manner that is safe for goods, self, and team, and minimises disruption to work flow. Outcome 3 Maintain batteries for electrical goods movement equipment. Evidence requirements 3.1 Batteries are charged in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. 3.2 Battery faults are identified, and corrective action is taken within agreed timeframe. Range 3.3 corrective action could include but is not limited to - replace battery, rectify fault, inform supervisor or engineer.
