Expectations:
 Arrive on time and prepared with binder, paper, pen/pencil
o Late Policy: 2x in one week=Office Detention
o You will be asked to sign in when late
 Be attentive, courteous, and respectful of others
 Come to class with binder, pencil and any HW
 Cell phones and headphones may not be out in class
 Bathrooms, getting water or trips to your locker must be done during breaks
and will not be permitted during classroom time…please plan accordingly
 Dress code will be checked and followed in my classroom

Grading Policy: In accordance with McCann’s grading system
Exams, Quizzes, and Projects: 70 %
 Exams and Quizzes (100pts): 30%
 Projects (100pts): 40%
Homework, Class Assignments, Binders, Attendance/Participation/Effort: 30 %
 Homework, Class Assignments (10pts): 15%
 Binder Check (100pts): 5%
 Attendance/Participation/Effort (10pts): 10%
Exams
One unit exam will be given at the end of each topic. Exams will include short
responses, occasional multiple choice questions and be graded more on effort and
what you personally learned than content retention.
Late Work:
All homework must be handed in at the beginning of class, but a late
assignment is better than a zero! 1-2 days late =80% 3-5 days late=65%. Late work
will not be accepted after 5 school days (shop days count) and will receive a zero.
Projects will be given 5pts deducted for every day late up to 5 days (shop days count). I
will only accept late work that is 100% completed, half done assignments that are late
will receive a zero.

Make-up Work
It is your responsibility to check with a classmate for the day’s agenda for work
missed on the day of absence. Make-ups are allowed only for work missed due to
excused absence. Any test, quiz or project MUST be handed in before the end of the
quarter in which it will be graded. Quizzes and tests must be made up either before or
after school. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to come to me to get or schedule makeup
work. I WILL NOT hunt you down.
Agenda & Homework
There will be an agenda and homework assignment posted every day. It is very
important that you write this down on your agenda sheet and have the homework
completed when it is due in order to keep up during class the next day.
Binders
You are required to keep a 3-ring binder for this course.

Binders should be set up in the order shown to the right.
Notes
This paper and agenda sheets should be in the front of the

binder neat and in order. They will be graded at least once
quarterly and count toward your quarterly grade. Sections must be kept in

Extra Help
I will be available after or before school for extra help or any makeup work (tests,
quizzes). Please make sure to see me in class though to ensure I will be afterschool on
a particular day.
I am here EVERY WEEK. If you have to make up work or get extra help please come
to see me during your shop week as well!!
I am also an online teacher. I am used to communicating with my students via email
and I check email often throughout the day and evening. Please feel free to send me a
