DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
ACDS, a leader in lifetime services for children and adults with developmental disabilities, seeks a
talented and energetic professional to fill the position of Development Associate. The Associate will
assist the Director of Development in various fundraising efforts including managing donor database and
other “back end” office operations, external communications, donor prospecting, building our friends
network and special projects.
Major Responsibilities:
 Function as primary in-house expert on Raiser’s Edge constituent management system –
responsible for
1. Daily gift processing
2. New constituent data entry
3. Creating and maintaining conventional and email lists and templates
4. Producing reports and queries as required
5. Coordinating and reconciling donation records with Fiscal staff

Assist in identifying and cultivating individuals, corporations and foundations to support
fundraising campaigns.

Support and manage relationships with network of friends and community groups in conducting
their private fundraising events

Assist in planning and managing special events

Function as primary liaison with web master in website updates

Develop written communications and printed materials as appropriate (including correspondence,
brochures, newsletters, Annual Reports and other materials).

Work closely with development colleagues to coordinate development and communications
activities

Perform other projects as time and experience permit
Qualifications:







Excellent writing,/communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Raiser’s Edge
MS Office knowledge and experience.
Experience working with social networking websites
Flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, business management, public relations or a related
field.
One to three years related experience, preferably within a non-profit organization.
