Development Associate Job Description The Office of Institutional Advancement at Paul D. Camp is responsible for raising funds in support of the college and promoting the college in ways to foster fundraising initiatives. The Development Associate supports the mission of the college by maintaining and increasing funding from primarily external donors, such as individuals of high or above average net worth, and corporations. He/she also leads the annual internal fundraising campaign with the support of College leadership. The Development Associate works with PDCCC departments, businesses and other organizations to identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors. The Development Associate (with administrative support within IA) manages the Foundation’s portfolio of donors, fundraising, scholarships and corporate funding, through identification, cultivation and solicitation. The Development Associate provides an expertise in public and private donor funding sources and implements and maintains the donor data collection and information system, with support of IA administrative support staff. This position will researches and analyzes funding opportunities, national trends, institutional and community data. This position also recommends policies and strategies to integrate into fundable proposals. This position will create new endowed scholarships with additional donor funding. The incumbent must have a record of achievement in a Development role, preferably in a higher education institution, specifically a community college setting. A comprehensive knowledge and experience in all phases of fundraising and donor cultivation and management, including research, financial and project management skills. Demonstrated ability of critical thinking and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability of excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple work duties, and manage conflicting tasks, while paying attention to detail. Demonstrated ability of strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills, including the ability to make oral and written presentations. Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze data and formulate plans. Demonstrated ability of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the skills needed to communicate effectively while establishing donor working relationships with diverse constituencies. Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as excellent decision-making and judgment skills. Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze and innovate. Demonstrated ability to use relevant software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Abila Fundraising 50. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in English, Business, Finance or related field, coupled with significant work experience in the following areas; fundraising, donor cultivating, scholarship cultivating, and donor database management. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education environments and experience with databases.
