Year 6 Homework letter Thursday 19th November Spelling: wreck castle catastrophe wrist biscuit apostrophe write muscle geography wrestle guitar photography answer rhubarb psychology wrong shepherd geometry wreckage archaeology exaggeration Maths: There is no formal maths homework this week. However the website is full of problem solving activities if you have a moment spare! Big Write: Big Write this week is to write a biography of an influential character in World War II. We have started to learn about the Second World War this week and have looked at the lives of Adolf Hitler, Winston Churchill and Anne Frank. The children should have chosen who they wish to write a biography about and it would be beneficial for the children to find out as much as possible about the person at home. Literacy: This week for homework I would like the children to create a comic strip about cyber bullying. This will be entered into a competition to win some fantastic prizes such as working in the Sky Academy Studios for a day. The brief is as follows: Children must create a comic strip that shows how they helped someone who is being cyberbullied. (Or a superhero) Each comic strip will be judged according to the following: Relevance: how relevant is the comic strip in increasing understanding of cyberbullying or helping others to understand how they can help someone who is being cyberbullied? Presentation and design: how interesting is the design of the comic strip? Does it have visual stand-out? Story-telling: does the comic strip have a clear start, middle and end? Is the message that the comic strip trying to tell clear? Originality: how original is the story? I have attached a comic template for the children to use although they are welcome to create the comic in the APP comic life and send it to stbridesps@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk. Kind regards, Mrs C.
