Task:
You and your group will be assigned one section of
Chapter 35: Nationalism and Political Identities in Asia,
Africa, and Latin America. Together you will brainstorm your region’s situation at
the beginning of the period (1900), the changes that occurred (political,
economic, cultural/intellectual/societal) throughout the period leading up to WWII,
and the role that nationalist movements played in shaping that history.
Create a cartoon/comic strip depicting the major characteristics, people, events
and forces that shaped this period. Make sure to use the concepts/terms from the
flash card list. Each student within the group should create a few frames on
computer paper and then the group will compile its frames and glue them onto
poster paper to create the comic strip format. You must have between 8 and 10
frames and need to include images, labeling (dialogue), and color.
Focus on:
- Nationalist and Autonomy movements
- Problems/Issues/Causes for change
- Revolutions/Rebellions/Wars
- Reform Efforts
- Government
- End result by 1940(or around that time)
