Summer Term 2 2015
Garden Day
Saturday 16 May
Thank you to everyone for all their hard work on
garden day. It was a lovely day and we
managed to get lots done. Many of you tackled
the weeds and cut back the over grown shrubs.
The decking was cleaned and
new stain applied.
The walls and most of the pergola were
painted and they are now looking fresh
the summer.
A big thank you to everyone who donated plants, we
now have some beautiful pots at the front of school for
everyone to enjoy.
The highlight of the day was the home made scones;
thank you Shriti, delicious!

Topic Week
Monday 18 May – Friday 22 May
Our topic week, Sand, Sea and More was a great success and the
children really enjoyed themselves during this special week.
Tuesday 19 May
Sunshine House had a visit from two donkeys, named
Dermott and Charlie. Everyone really enjoyed meeting
them, and the children were able to stroke, groom and
feed them, and a few even rode Dermott!
Thursday 21 May
Our Community Afternoon was a fun
day for all. There was an 'Under the
Sea' Sensory Walk, which included
seaside songs and plenty of bubbles,
which the children loved.
The water play was a success, with squirting monsters, and
also the sand finished off their seaside activities.
We were treated to themed songs from Holy Trinity School
and a visit from a class at Pentland Field School. Children and
adults enjoyed fruit kebabs, ice-cream and Carole's wonderful
cakes! We closed our day with fun parachute games for
everyone to join in with.
Friday 22 May
This was our Music Day. Some students went to
Grangewood for a concert in the morning and we had
David Stevens from the Eye Music Trust come in to do
computerised music workshops with six groups on the
theme of 'Seaside'. A performance in the afternoon
culminated in the premiere of the 'Sunshine House
Seaside Compositions' to the whole school. A lovely day
was had by all and beautiful music composed.
