Weekly skills:
Theme: All about me: Me and my community
Letter: Letter “Cc” recognizing sight words beginning with “Cc”. Show and tell work books.
Describing and positional words. Stories and rhymes. Blending words beginning with “Cc”
Shape: Star and oval shapes and revision of other shapes/assessment
Color: Green and revision of other colours/assessment
Math: Counting and recognizing numbers from 1-14, positional words and measurement words.
Learning about numbers that come before and after. Children match numerals to word numbers.
Introduce graphing.
Science: Me and my community.
Creative development: Painting, play dough, drawing, collage materials based on skills of the week
and theme. Music and movement about community workers
Physical Development: Active movement, song and dance (prepare for national day celebrations),
jumping, running, hopping, games, ball skills.
Bilingualism and Biculturalism: UAE flag, , national anthem, songs about community workers.
Practicing for national day celebrations.
Personal and social Development: Children will discuss how they work hard at school and be a good
student. Continue with learning skills such as turn taking and working together. Also opportunity
for role playing community workers.
KG2 Project:
Thursday 26th November – Dress up as their favourite community helper such as
policeman, fireman, soldier, Doctor, Nurse, and Teacher etc.
Reminders:
 Please remember healthy snacks and lunches. No cakes, Nutella, or sugary drinks.
 Green day on 11th of December 2015
 No parents in classrooms while lessons are on unless approved by the Principal.
 No older siblings to go into KG classrooms at any time.
 CHANGE OF CLOTHES FOR ALL KG2 STUDENTS PLEASE
 Please bring decorations for National Day so we can decorate the kindergarten department for
celebrations and parents please join us on 30 th November to celebrate this very special occasion.
Children may dress up in traditional dress or in UAE colours.
