McCarver Elementary School Dress Code Policy 2015-2016 Student Dress Code Research has concluded that students are able to perform at their highest level in a safe and secure environment. Students are expected to dress in a manner that enhances academic learning. Any disruptive clothing or appearance that adversely impacts the educational process is not permitted. Students shall be fully clothed in neat, clean and modest attire. Clothing must be free of tears and holes. Pants, Shorts and Skirts Must be worn at fingertip length and neatly hemmed. No sagging or wearing below the natural waist, oversized, fringed, with holes or cutoffs allowed. Shirts Oversized/baggy dresses, tank tops, halters, half shirts with an exposed midriff, and tops with spaghetti straps are not allowed. No offensive, explicit, anti-discrimination, gang affiliation by color, insignia or symbolism or inappropriate words or pictures are allowed. Shoes Must be closed toe, flat and properly fastened. Flip-flops, open toe, sandals, wheeled and slippers are not allowed. General Appearance Hair must be neat and clean. Facial makeup is not allowed. Hats, scarves, gloves and coats are worn outside only. Bandanas, sunglasses, chains or large jewelry are not allowed.
