Dear Parents, EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO KING’S CROSS THEATRE TO SEE THE RAILWAY CHILDREN ON WEDNESDAY 1ST JULY A visit has been arranged for Year 2 to visit King's Cross Theatre to see The Railway Children on Wednesday 1st July. Linked with our literacy unit on long narratives, the children will be reading E. Nesbit’s classic tale ‘The Railway Children’ in class and this trip will be a fantastic, interactive way to support their learning. The theatre is centered around a real train track and features a vintage steam train. Please read more about this fantastic production by clicking on the following link http://railwaychildrenlondon.com/about/about-the-show. This is a very exciting opportunity for the children. We will be travelling by tube, leaving school at 10:00am to allow for travelling time. We will be taking the Piccadilly line from North Ealing station straight to King’s Cross station. We aim to arrive at King’s Cross station by 11:00 am. There is no cost for tube travel. We will have lunch when we arrive at the theatre. The show starts at 1:00pm and lasts approximately 2 hours. We will then leave King’s Cross Theatre at 3:20pm with an estimated arrival back at school by 4.30-4:45 pm. We will contact you via text message if our arrival time is delayed. Please be prepared for changeable weather. Children should bring a sunhat and have sun cream applied at home (or a raincoat if we are unlucky with the weather). Children will wear normal school uniform and will be provided with a high-vis vest for the journey. Your child will be provided with a packed lunch from school. The packed lunch will consist of a sandwich, fruit and water. Children will receive an additional snack before they leave school on the morning of the trip. The cost of the trip will be £18.43. Payment will need to be made online via Parentpay. Please don’t hesitate to contact the school office should you have any difficulty regarding payment. If you agree to your child taking part in this visit, please sign and return the slip below. If you would like to volunteer to assist in the trip to King’s Cross theatre, please tick the box on the return slip. If there are more volunteers than is needed we will do a random selection and then will only contact selected parents. Yours sincerely, Miss O’Sullivan and Miss O’Connell Year 2 Class Teachers ___________________________________________________________________ To: Holy Family Catholic Primary School EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO KING’S CROSS THEATRE TO SEE THE RAILWAY CHILDREN ON WEDNESDAY 1ST JULY I give permission for my child to participate in the above trip and have contributed £18.43 to the cost via Parentpay.
