Year 5 Homework Grid – Autumn, Term 1
Choose a digital learning and one Literacy, Numeracy or Other piece of homework per week to complete. Record your work in your green home learning book.
For your first piece of homework we would like you to cover your home learning book with something suitable such as spare gift paper or wallpaper.

“fact family” sentences e.g.

B: Get a shopping receipt and
write 10 word problems based on
it. Examples:
How much would it have cost if
you didn’t buy the beans?
What would the total be if you

C: Produce a timeline of dates that
are special to you or historical
events that you are interested in.
Make sure that you use your place
value and ordering skills to
organise them into chronological
(time) order.
E: Create a comic strip based
on your Summer holiday. It will
need illustrations, time
openers and be well
presented.
Try to use adventurous
vocabulary.

Construct a model of a Spitfire. Use any
materials that you see fit for purpose.

recount about what life would
have been like. Don’t forget to
write in the first person. Also

lots of historical details as well
as your thoughts and feelings!
