Recital Information 2015
Dress Rehearsal Date: Wednesday, June 10
Performance Dates: Thursday, June 11th 7:00 PM and Friday, June 12th 7:00 PM
“The Stick” a ballet adaptation based on the book and silhouette art of Clay Rice.
**If you will purchase the book, please consider waiting until the performances. The author/publisher
have asked MBT to allow book sales at the ballet. This will benefit the author.
I hope you will consider the worth of your dancer performing in our annual school division recital. I feel the additional cost that it
takes is small compared to what is gained for our young artists. It is truly inspiring to be able to perform on a professional stage.
The dancers learn to work together toward a common goal as they learn the steps to their dances. Dancers also grow in artistry as
they learn to use their imaginations to be something and tell something outside of themselves. As parents and audience members,
the recital is an opportunity to see the school as a whole. You have the opportunity to see where your dancers were, their current
positions and what they will be dancing like in years to come.
I feel like MBT is unique in that we produce recitals that are original. We have been granted permission over and over by authors
and publishers to create ballet adaptations on their books. Dancers are being exposed to beautiful and rich music choices that
instill in them an appreciation of music for life .
Payment for Costumes:
A 50% deposit or payment in full must be made by January 31st. Please make your payment in check if possible in
person with the office staff. (We lose % with CC and paypal). We also would like in person confirmation of sizes we will
be ordering. (money goes directly to costume companies)
Costume pictures may be viewed at studio.
Creative Movement Levels $55.00
Level I/II $60.00
Level III $65.00
Level III ext $60.00
Level IV $105.00 (two costumes)
Level V $110.00 (two costumes)
MBT Company Division $120.00 (two costumes)
Some Company Dancers will have option of third costume
Payment for Performance Fee:
$25.00 for each dancer that will be participating. Due by May 15th. This fee helps offset production costs and goes
toward theatre deposit, programs, tickets, etc… This fee also helps to keep ticket prices lower.
Ticket Cost: Tickets will be available for purchase by April or May. Cost will be determined by the theatre. We will be
performing at the beautiful PLU Theatre this year. This is a very exciting opportunity for MBT. Mt Tahoma High School
is unavailable in June due to the PGA Golf tournaments.
Pictures/DVD/Flowers: These are extra services we provide for you at recital time. Pictures are usually taken at the
studio a month or so before recital. This information will come to you at a later date. We would appreciate your
feedback in this area. Is it worth it to you for us to organize picture day at the studio? Is it a service you appreciate and
want to see continue? We will base our decision whether or not to have picture day this year by your responses. Plus
we will know how many of you actually read this whole letter!  Look for survey cards at office when you are in the
office.
