They feature Heather's powerful vocals centre stage and moulded together with her intense fiddle playing, the serious instrumental talents of Dan Dinnen and Danny McKenna and one of Australia's most highly respected bassists Leigh Barker. Heather's uncompromising line ups of world class musicians and awesome tunes has gained audiences trust and respect over the years. Following their successful EP in 2008, HS Trio released "Get Your Fingers Off It!" to three major blues awards, rave reviews and a quick sell-out of the first pressing. Heather is a genuine country girl who grew up on a farm in Southern NSW riding horses, mustering cattle and rousing in the shearing shed before moving to Melbourne to become a musician. She completed a Bachelor of Music (Hons), Graduate Diploma and Masters in violin and voice and has travelled, studied and performed extensively around Australia, Europe and the UK. Inspired by blues, cajun and jazz musicians Andy Baylor, Peter Baylor, Julie O'Hara, George Washingmachine and internationals Alvin Youngblood Heart and Corey Harris, Heather formed the Heather Stewart Trio with talented musicians Danny McKenna (Jeff Lang) and Dan Dinnen (MBAS Blues Performer of the Year 2009). Together they found their own path to performing and writing beautiful old acoustic blues, country, cajun songs and instrumentals. The band push each other's musical limits to find their best path. The cookin' Live EP drove the Debut album "Get Your Fingers Off It! to tell the story of varying musical roads creating new paths for acoustic blues and fiddle tunes. Since this album the Heather Stewart band have travelled and brought together more musical influences to create a magic new album filled with revealing originals that are never far from the dirt of the Australian countryside. "Heather Stewart's voice will touch your heart with its strength, sincerity and sass. She is an immensely talented violinist and writes beautiful blues, fiddle tunes and roots songs that add a typically Australian flavour to her favourite old American country blues and cajun repertoire."
