Dr. Heather MacQuarrie Heather began her academic training at the University of Calgary receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with Distinction in 2007. The following year, Heather was accepted into the inaugural Doctor of Veterinary Medicine class at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM). Prior to entering veterinary school Heather had some exposure to herd medicine, in particular feedlot medicine; this along with passionate food animal professors at UCVM intrigued Heather to learn more about production medicine. While at UCVM Heather’s Area of Emphasis was Production Animal Health. In 2012, Dr. MacQuarrie received her DVM degree with distinction from UCVM. Today, Heather works in private practice at a busy 24 hour small animal hospital in Calgary, where her areas of interest are ultrasonography, endoscopy and emergency medicine.
