School has to meet certain criteria set by the Board o Class splits o 4 Kindergarten classes

70% of junior kindergartens are boys
6 Primary classes (set by Board) o Cap of 20 students o 2 grade 1’s o 2 grade 2’s o 2 grade 3’s o 1 grade ¾ split to be an even split and if a re org occurs this is the class that would likely disappear
3 Junior classes o 3 grade 4/5 splits using the following rationale
Academic and social/emotional needs
Better environment for personalities
Better option than 30 grade 4’s in one class
Staffing finalized mid June
Quick staggered entry in September – all first week

FDK Construction Update o Kindergarten pen has been moved to the front of the school o Possibility of having it enlarged because of the concrete and steps o Waiting for permit before digging o For 2 weeks students will not be able to use primary door
Wild on Waterdown o Coming to Mary Hopkins to work on front garden o June 8, 2013 o Asking for volunteers and plant material
School Council Constitution to be reviewed at the next meeting o Send out Constitution and Ministry Guidelines 1 week prior to next meeting
