Miner Clubs at Coal Mountain Elementary School: Spring 2015
All Miner Clubs will meet from 2:40-3:50 p.m. for six weeks. Please fill out the attached registration form and send
payment in to your child’s teacher. Checks should be made payable to Coal Mountain Elementary and include your child’s
name and the name of the club in the memo section. We are excited there are 11 clubs to choose from (please see the
front and back of this paper). Your child can choose more than one club. Please fill out a separate registration form
for each club and each individual child (if more than one child in family is participating).
MONDAY CLUBS: 3/30, 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11
Bracelet Bonanza:
We will be designing and creating bracelets to meet all the fashion trends. Whether you prefer
stack, beaded, or friendship bracelets…this club is for you! Come customize accessories to match your personal wardrobe
with me!

Dance Party Extravaganza – Do you love to dance?
When you hear music, does your body start to move and
groove? Have you ever wanted to learn some party dances? If so, then this club is for you. Each week, we will learn
different dances like the cha cha, the electric slide, the chicken dance, and more. We will also make a dance prop each
week to add to the excitement. Our last club will be a dance party where we show off our new moves.

Engineering Structures: We will be building all different kinds of structures:
bridges, towers, buildings, wind
turbines, etc. out of all kinds of materials. We will also test them to see how they stand up to earthquakes, weight and
wind! Lots of fun. No experience needed. 

Gator Skin Games:
The Gator Club gets its name from the Gator Skin brand balls that we use so often in PE class.
Students will participate in a variety of games that will leave them breathing hard and sweating!!!! They will play games
that are cooperative and competitive and will play at their chosen level of intensity in a safe and fun environment. These
games include Backboard Ball, Trench, Galactic Bombardment, Downer Ball, Rainstorm, Spider Ball, Competition Castle Ball,
Georgia Cone Ball, Dog House, Four Square Pin Ball, and others. Bring an energy snack, wear your sneakers and be ready to
have some healthy fun!

LEGO Club: Calling all builders to the LEGO Club!
If you have a desire to build cool creations then LEGO club is for you.
Come join Mrs. Worley in LEGO club to have a building good time. Your $10 supply fee will be for LEGO surprises.

TUESDAY CLUBS: 3/31, 4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12
American Girl Town: Bring your American Girl doll to play and visit the spa/salon, hospital, playground, school, and
bakery (with treats for dolls and real girls too)! Lots of fun playing, crafting and eating!!

Clay Club: Kids will explore their creativity while learning the craft of ceramics.
They will experiment with a variety of
building techniques while thinking about structure, shapes and forms. All pieces will be glazed and fired for each child to
take home.

Creative Cooking: Do you love to make, bake, and/or create with a splash of competition?
Then this club is for you.
Join Mrs. Schwaemmle and Mrs. Lowe in the kitchen to whip up some fun treats and compete against other teams all while
enjoying a DELICIOUS treat! We hope to see you there!

Ooey Gooey Science: Do you like to get your hands dirty in the name of science? If so, this is the club for you! The
scientists in this club will spend their time making concoctions like flubber, blubber, and a very original play-dough recipe.
We’ll even make our very own stickers using an ooey, gooey, sticky sticker mixture. Come and join in the fun!

Magnificent Manicures Just for Girls: Do you LOVE to be pampered?
Well join us for an incredible Nail Spa Day
every Thursday after school. Your nails will thank you for it and they will look fabulous!!! A new manicure with special nail
design will be done each week for every participant!
Stylists: Mrs. Sullivan & Mrs. Schwaemmle Grades K-5 (Max. 30) Cost:$40 + $10 Supply fee Art Room
Chickados: A character building club for girls with some crafting too.
We are epically cool chicks but we also understand
the RIGHT thing to do. We will be exploring character, confidence and the courage of acceptance while building teamwork
and having a ball.

Science and Engineering Favorites: The students will get to choose their favorite activities!
There are many
science experiments and engineering designs we have done through the years that the students love. They will get to pick
which ones they want to do for the club. I will also have some new surprise activities added!

Registration for this session ends on March 25th. Classes will begin the week of Mar. 30th.
 Please note: Class size is limited. Students will be enrolled on a first come first serve basis.

 In the memo line of the check – be sure to include your child’s name and the name of the club.
 A separate check for each club is required.
 Checks & registration forms may be turned in to the homeroom teacher.
 No registration forms will be accepted after March 25th .
 Registration forms without the required fee will be returned.
