 Book Power: We are reading ‘The Ice Palace’ by Robert Swindells
which is a quest story set in another time and place. Ivan, the main
character goes in search of his brother taken
by the mysterious ‘Starjik’.
 Linked to this book, we are studying a variety of genres of writing such
as narrative endings; list poetry; non-chronological reports.





MATHEMATICS
Mental Maths consists of multiplication tables and their
related division facts. Also fact families such as 3x4=12
30x4=120 and 30x40=1200
The Number System & Place Value, including decimals
Calculations with whole numbers
Shape, measurements and telling the time
Fractions, including equivalent fractions and simplifying
fractions
