There are different levels of
questions in terms of difficulty: Level
1, 2, and 3.
Level 1
• There is only 1 right answer.
• Example: What is the name of General
Zaroff’s servant?
• Answer: Ivan (no one can disagree)
• Level 1 Words: define, identify, observe, list,
point to, name
Level 2
• Answers will vary.
• Example – Compare and contrast Whitney’s
views on hunting to Rainsford’s views on
hunting.
• Answer: your answer will be slightly different
from someone else’s answer.
• Level 2 Words: compare, contrast, analyze,
infer, sequence, group
Level 3
• Answers will be based on opinion backed up by
evidence.
• Generate discussion.
• Example: Judge whether or not General Zaroff’s
game is fair.
• Answer: answers will be different based on
opinions.
• Level 3 Words: evaluate, judge,
predict, imagine, speculate,
hypothesize, create, plan
