ASM Press News ASM @ Productronica, November 10–13, 2015 Booth A3.377 New options The E by SIPLACE all-round solution becomes even more versatile With its E by SIPLACE placement solution, equipment maker ASM Assembly Systems is successfully positioning itself in the all-round segment of electronics production. The company is presenting the E by SIPLACE at this year's Productronica for the first time with a long-board option, new feeder modules, and an improved user interface for fast and easy programming – innovations that make the all-round machine even more versatile and easier to operate. The E-Community area has been expanded as well. On this Internet platform, users will find a wide range of job cards, technical documentation, maintenance schedules, videos and other materials that enable them to operate and maintain their E by SIPLACE without any external help. Productronica visitors can view the updated E by SIPLACE at the ASM booth in Hall 3 (Booth 377). At the ASM booth, the E by SIPLACE will be featured in two configurations: FLEX and SPEED. Both demonstrate how flexibly the modern all-round platform can be configured with various placement heads, feeder systems, fixed and mobile changeover tables and other options to meet a wide range of requirements. Equipped with high-precision linear drives, high-end vision systems and placement force sensors, the E by SIPLACE has been setting new benchmarks in the all-round segment ever since its introduction. New feeder modules: JTF tray feeder and stick feeder Besides the cableless Smart Feeder E for the classic component supply with tapes, the E by SIPLACE now also accommodates the JEDEC tray feeders and bar magazines. The new feeder options make this ASM placement solution even more versatile for electronics manufacturers. Up to 1200 mm: Long-board option The long-board option for the E by SIPLACE is the ideal solution for LED applications and industrial products. It accommodates boards that are up to 1200 mm long and 4.5 mm high. Easy programming ASM’s new software interface for creating component descriptions and placement programs is called S-Programming. A few mouse clicks or taps on the touchscreen are all it takes to enter all necessary settings. And if you run into problems, the E-Community is there to help. This is where you find everything you need to configure, operate and maintain your E by SIPLACE machine: videos, tutorials, technical documentation, job cards, checklists, and maintenance schedules, to name just a few, are available in a clear structure, making most outside support calls unnecessary. “With the E by SIPLACE we are embarking on a new course in technology, sales and service. The success of this new all-round machine speaks for itself. Now we focus on supporting its efficient use in even more applications with a variety of options. The Long Board Option, for example, opens the door to attractive LED applications, and other options expand the machine’s usability in flexible contract and prototype production,” explains Sven Buchholz, who is in charge of the global E by SIPLACE business.
